Nobody knows it but me..

Growing up, I've always had this wonderful idea, that, unfortunately I know will never happen. It started with watching movies. When you watch a movie, it seems like now-a-days, the soundtrack can make or break a film. Like, what would Gardenstate be without the Frou Frou song at the end? Or Romeo and Juliet (the newest version, w/ Leo) without the radiohead song near the beginning? Anyways, back to my idea; to have a soundtrack...for your life. Cool no? All you have to do is just think of a song, and it kind of radiates out of you. Sometimes you could inflict it on others, like if you see some kid dressed like a gangster walking down the street, start playing some 50 cent, and follow him around for a bit. And other times, it would kinda go by itself. As in, say your boyfriend just broke up with you, and to him you're all like, yeah, whatever, I'm better off without you, but all of a sudden Right Here Waiting for You by Brian Adams starts blasting. And you're like SHIT, not again, and huffily walk away..

Most of the time, however, it would just be goodtimes. Like if you're a hooker, but you don't really want to be, you could play Roxane by The Police, and pretend it's about you. Hmmm, or if you're chilling on the beach in the middle of summer, any positive song by Jack Johnson would do.

Well, I could go on for days and days, so, you know Tell All Your Friends by Project Orange...

i know exactly what you mean, meg0! i've even thought about songs that would go best in certain very peculiar situations...like right now i am home with an awful sore throat, i click on 'no satisfaction' by black mountain and i can whince out a smile. those who think that music can't be applied to any part of life should read this post. btw, what about farts? i say something with bagpipes, or is that just too gross? i wish you would've written more on this topic....anyway, have a great break and keep practising the guitar; perhaps you could do something with it during our poetry/song project?

This is exactly why I think there's merit and money in the 3 hour long song buisness. Some of it will be planned out, lots will be spontaneous. It will occasionally fade out entirely and be sad and minor, other instruments will be dug out during the process. The writing process could be as simple as playing along to a camera attached to someone's head, but hidden in some unobtrusive way. Maybe a sombrero?

Oh, and the longest snowboarding marathon is 180 hours, but the longest lawn bowling marathon is only 35 hours. I guess it's easier to fall asleep on horizontal, comfortable grass.

I agree Brian, I agree.
Hey Greg, imagine if people started letting the songs like run their day. As in when it got to an exciting part they'd have to break into a crazy dance sequence, or start running around; or when it got really calm, they'd just lay down where they were and fall asleep. Heh, like during class, people sporatically flailing their arms around...
